Britain’s Strongest Girl - She’s Only 14

The British Olympic Association has named Zoe Smith as the Athlete of the Year in her sport (weightlifting) and she’s only 14 years old. This honor which is usually reserved for Olympic Athletes, was given to Zoe after she took gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India, in October.
This little package of dynamite in the weightlifting world could kick my ass and yours but she only stands 5′2″ and weighs 126lbs. At 14 years old Zoe can lift 3 times her own body weight, setting an amazing 98 British records in 2008.
I don’t know what they have in the water over there but the UK is pumping out the busty ladies and the strong ones. Note to British Prime Minister: You could become the richest nation in the world if you can figure out how to bottle this.

Roger Clemens’ Name Dropped By Houston Hospital

The Roger Clemens Institute for Sports Medicine will become the Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine Institute on Jan. 1 “to better reflect its commitment to all sports and athletes,” Alejandra Rodriguez, a hospital spokeswoman, said in an e-mail.
“The change only affects the name of the institute,” she said. “Roger Clemens remains committed to working with us to champion youth sports and develop aspiring baseball players.”
Yeah right, and tomorrow Ed McMahon will knock on my front door with a check for $1,000,000.

I’ve never thought having a government or political job would be fun but working for the Canvassing Board in Minnesota just might be. You see in the recount of votes for the Senate seat between Al Franken and Norm Coleman there have been several write-in votes and ballot challenges. In one case a voter wrote in and marked their vote for Brett Favre for President and Norm Coleman for Senator. On the other ballot Lizard People was written in for President and Senator but they ended up marking Al Franken for the Senate position.
Mississippi Men’s Basketball Coach Arrested

Andy Kennedy, Head Coach of Men’s Basketball for Ole Miss was arrested for assault after a cab driver claimed he punched him and shouted racial slurs. The cab driver claims that Coach Kennedy got upset when he was told that he could not have five people in the cab and proceed to assault him. Here’s where the twist comes in, the entire coaching staff witnessed the situation. Based on that fact alone, we know that nothing will come of this because even if the assault took place no one is going to tell for fear of their job. (FoxSports)
