Pacman’s Suspension Pisses Me Off

My entire sense of human nature and the inherent goodness in people is being turned upside down.  I have always been the one to give second chances and say that people can change, but Adam (Now I’m Gonna Call You Pacman Because I’m Pissed) Jones is making me look like an idiot.  The commissioners suspension of Jones today was my breaking point.

When Cedric Benson was eligible to come back in the league I stood up for him.  When Pacman was in trouble again I said no, I’m sure you’re wrong just give him a break.  I have defended Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, and Plaxico Burress at times, but not anymore.  I’m tired of standing up for athletes who make bonehead moves and then being the one who ends up looking like a fool.

Can these guys really change?  With more and more stories of athletes with legal, drug, and attitude problems coming out is there really an end in sight or is the NFL being forced into the position of babysitter?  I know I’m not a millionaire athlete with everyone watching my moves but if I was I’m sure I’d be grateful for it and appreciate what I’ve got.  These guys need to realize they have been handed a gift that they are unwrapping, using and then returning to the store for the shitty after Christmas sale price.  Do they really think they’ll ever get another gift handed to them like this? Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.

I’m not one to keep my mouth shut and I still live in a fairy tale land where I see the good in all people, so…it’s not likely I’ll stop standing up for athletes but Pacman has lost this cheerleader.
