School District Sued By Cheerleaders’ Parents Over Nude Photos

Yet another case of nude photos creating a lawsuit.  Will these ever end?  Probably not.  In this latest case the Northshore School District in Bothell, Washington is being sued by 2 cheerleaders families over the circulation of nude photos.  The girls were suspended from the cheer squad, one for 30 days the other for the entire year, after nude photos of them were circulated between students via text messages.

I just want to note a few funny points in this story:

1. “she and a fellow cheerleader used their cell phones to each snap photos of themselves naked” - Wow, now that is a team bonding activity I had never thought of.

2. “Those photos were later accidentally sent to other Bothell High students, though King said it was unclear how that happened.” - I’m sorry, you are unclear as to how this happened and they “accidentally” got sent?  Is this another case of cell phones sending the pictures on their own?

3. “the pictures were circulating among students, particularly football players.” - No shit.  Who do you think they were taken for?

4. “Football players were told to delete the pictures from their cell phones if they received them, according to the lawsuits.” - Who was going to police this - the coach?  Were they told not to download them to their computers?  It doesn’t say so which leads me to believe we may not have seen the last of this.
