I’ll admit I watch American Idol (what girl doesn’t?). The auditions are funny and I like to see how close to Simon Cowell I can come to picking the winners. But, Paula Abdul’s involvement over the years has steadily gone down hill.
She appeared drunk or high in most episodes last year, couldn’t formulate a compelete sentence and at one point forgot who sang what song when giving critiques. I’m sure she knows that her days are numbered and it looks like she’s got a plan, GO TO VEGAS.
Paula has been hatching a secret escape route for life after American Idol and the plan has us intrigued.
Paula Abdul is going back to her cheerleading roots! With her “American Idol” contract nearing its end, she’s plotting to launch a cheerleader-themed Cirque du Soleil-type show in Las Vegas, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively. Paula - a former Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader - is secretly negotiating with several Sin City casinos to headline a stage extravaganza that would open in late 2009, sources say.
“It will be very state-of-the-art with a number of stage props, such as water, lightening and pyrotechnics,” the source reveals.

This show is destined to be a smash hit. Whenever you include Cheerleaders, Water, Pyrotechnics and Alcohol you have a winner on your hands. This could be the perfect follow up job for Caitlin Davis (the recently released New England Patriots Cheerleader). Can’t you just picture her in a Flashdance moment?
